The Ministry of Youth Affairs was today honored to receive Her Excellency Amb. Rasha Soliman, the Egyptian Ambassador to Sierra Leone, who paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Youth Affairs, Min. Ibrahim Sannoh, at his Scan Drive office.
The visit was aimed at strengthening the long-standing ties between Sierra Leone and the Arab Republic of Egypt, with a special focus on youth empowerment, skills development, and educational exchange.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Min. Ibrahim Sannoh expressed gratitude for Egypt’s continued partnership and support toward Sierra Leone’s development agenda. He emphasized the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with Egypt in key areas such as technical and vocational training, entrepreneurship, etc, to enhance the capacity and employability of young people across the country.
In her remarks, Amb. Rasha Soliman reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Sierra Leone, particularly in promoting youth development. She praised the Ministry’s leadership for its proactive approach in empowering the country’s youth, highlighting Egypt’s willingness to support through training programs, scholarships, and cultural exchange initiatives.
“Egypt and Sierra Leone share a common vision for youth empowerment,” Amb. Soliman said. “We are eager to explore practical ways to work together for the benefit of young people in both countries.”
“The Ministry of Youth Affairs values this engagement with the Egyptian Embassy,” Minister Sannoh noted. “We believe that through such cooperation, we can co-create new opportunities for our young people and strengthen the bridge of friendship between our two nations.”
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to strengthen collaboration through joint initiatives that will promote innovation, capacity building, and cross-cultural learning for the youth of Sierra Leone.
This engagement underscores the Ministry’s continued commitment to fostering international partnerships that contribute to national development and the empowerment of young Sierra Leoneans.
