The Deputy Minister for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at Liberia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, Hon. Laraamand Shenkin Nyonton II, has paid a high-level courtesy visit to Sierra Leone’s Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Sannoh, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional cooperation in youth empowerment.
The engagement, held in Freetown, focused on advancing a framework for bilateral collaboration in skills development, vocational training, and workforce readiness. Both ministers underscored the importance of coordinated regional strategies in addressing youth unemployment, enhancing human capital, and aligning training programmes with national development priorities.
Hon. Nyonton lauded Sierra Leone’s expanding youth empowerment architecture and expressed Liberia’s interest in knowledge exchange, institutional partnerships, and cross-border capacity-building initiatives. In response, Minister Sannoh reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to cultivating strong subregional alliances that drive sustainable development and promote inclusive opportunities for young people.
The meeting marks a significant step toward deeper Mano River Union cooperation in technical education and youth-focused governance reforms.
